Sita - Warrior of Mithila - Amish

After reading the first book, yes I was waiting for the second. The first book presented Ramayana in a new light and it was quite a gluing tale, hence wait for the second book was but obvious. As the name suggests it is the story of Sita, but as a warrior. I loved the character of Sita which is depicted as a very strong one unlike the image of her.

To start with it was a pleasure to know that there would be total four books in this series and another delight to know that the next book in the series would be based on Ravana's life like this book narrated the story of Sita. Already waiting for the third book and yes fourth book will be the gem coz the story will move forward after Sita's abduction by Raavan.

Amish is a true genius when it comes to description. As already told in previous blog one can actually picture the scenes narrated in the book. The character of Samichi and Hanuman are very interesting and so is that of Jatayu. However I am very curious to know the reason of animosity between Maharishi Vishwamitra and Maharishi Vashishtha. Wait is on for I am even more curious to know if it will be revealed in book 3 or book 4.

The mention of Mumbai as a small island known as Mumbadevi was wonderful along with the story of Jatayu. Also touching on the topic of Jallikatu was a masterstroke. Who could have thought that Ramayana can be so informative as well.

The end is simply wonderful after revealing a shocker (I won't be giving spoiler) and it really leaves you craving for more. Just a thought, the series should have 5 books rather than 4 wherein the fourth book focuses on the fight between Ram and Ravana and the fifth book narrates the story after Ram, Sita and Lakshman get back to Ayodhya. Just being greedy for more you can say.

A wonderful book. Truely a genius creation. Thanks Amish for this delight.
