In the Name of God - Ravi Subramanian

One of my favourite author Ravi Subramanian's book released and it's impossible for me to not to grab a copy. I won't deny that before picking up the books authored by him I expect them to give me some nail biting moments, curiousity on what happens next and shock on finding the actual culprit. Also the best part about his books are the chapters are short, they don’t drag at a single point and are at a breath-taking pace. They immediately grab your attention and the unravelling of mystery keeps you glued throughout the book.

The book ‘In the name of God’ as everybody knows has the back-drop of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple at Thiruvananthapuram. The history of how the temple got its name makes for an interesting read and gives us an insight of the tremendous research that Ravi Subramanian has done. The back-drop of Mumbai’s very own Zaveri Bazar again grabs your attention. The characters in the book are very real and relatable. You would fall in love with the character of Kabir Khan who as per me is the main protagonist and the official researching the murders.

The book starts with incidents at various parts of the world, leaving the readers wondering how are they connected. The connection of all the incidents is revealed at the end of the book leaving you with feeling of completeness, which is always the case with Ravi Subramanian’s books. The revelation of the antagonist is a shocker in real sense. As a reader you do suspect somebody but it happens to be someone else. The reason revealed for the crime is again a realistic one. It also makes you ponder what all things people actually do in the name of God!

Another good aspect of books authored by Ravi Subramanian is that his books are always well researched in terms of the place where the book is based, the method of crime and the incidents that happened. He makes you engrossed in the book like no one else. A great book worthy of read for me.

Thanks for bringing to us a brilliant masterpiece! Hope we get the next soon.
