Harappa - Curse of the Blood River - Vineet Bajpai

I find the topic of Harappa and Mohenjodaro quite intriguing since there is no written evidence of what actually transpired the diminishing of a civilized and well built cities. I wanted to see what the author had to offer though fiction. An ok kind of book.

To start with it is not clear whether this is a single book or a trilogy? It's still not clear. I was a bit disappointed when I reached the end only to find the words "To be continued..". There are many lose ends which is expected to be tied maybe in the sequel. Many secrets are not revealed paving way for the other.

The characters are developed but I won't say brilliantly since you would notice the lingo same for 2-3 characters and hence no uniqueness in traits of a character. The story is gripping. Narratives are brilliant. Detailing is awesome and yes you can imagine a movie going on right in front of you.

One best thing about this book is again reminding us that Indians were by far the superior race and the superiority was hidden from passing onto generations for greater gains. I believe in this tremendously. And hence I would pick up the sequel for sure.

I was waiting for the revelation of the 2 curses that are to be revealed to the protagonist but I'll have to wait for the sequel for that. I've not come across something like this is trilogies earlier where lose ends remain untold and hence a tad bit disappointing.

A read for those who are ready to wait for the sequel.
