Before we Visit the Goddess - Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

I had read 'The Palace of Illusions' and became a fan of her writing. It was a brilliant book of history. This book has just recently been published and I couldn't resist myself from picking this book.

The story is about three generations of Mothers and Daughters and the changing equations of their relationships. Brilliant work again by one of my favourite authors. The book is a fast paced one with lots of flashbacks. Author has used two styles of writing i.e. First person and third person still maintaining the continuity. It's simply a fabulous work.

All the characters are well developed and have their own personal traits. Many incidents can be relatable. Each of the 3 generations stories are different from each other yet a lot of commonalities exist. The story also depicts the changes that are providential with different generations. Except for 2 lose ends all the ends are neatly tied. Loved the way the book ends.

Needless to say I loved this book a lot and will undoubtedly give it 5/5.
