Why I assassinated Gandhi - Nathuram Godse / Gopal Godse

I always had the curiousity in knowing the reasoning behind Assassination of 'The Father of Nation' Gandhiji and hence when I came across this book on Jaipur airport I simply bought the book. I have an inclination towards history and hence the obvious choice. And I don't repent taking this book.

The book starts with the summary of events preceding the assassination then moving onto the police investigations and arrests. It further details the reply to the charge sheet which forms the crux of the book. The reply to the charge sheet details every aspect of the reasoning behind the gruesome event.

Upto quite an extent it is logical. It clarified certain things about Godse which are, he was well read, well educated, totally aware of the political environment and very much controlled individual. He was absolutely sure about his action and the result thereof. He took the sole responsibility of the murder and didn't flee away, neither did he plead not guilty. He didn't appeal against the verdict given by the court too.

I won't reveal more details about the revelations in the book. However every Indian should read this book. It would change your perspective towards the freedom we got. One might also feel bad about some of the facts iterated in the book but those are the facts.

A must read for all the true Indians.
