When Breath becomes Air - Paul Kalanithi

This book like the last one was one of the books which other #brunchbookchallenge taker had posted. I was intrigued by the title and so decided to grab it. I am just speechless reading this great story.

The book is about a Neurosurgeon Paul Kalanithi who is diagnosed with Lung Cancer, details his life journey. The book has been completed by his wife Lucy Kalanithi as a tribute to the author and his wish to be an author. The book is a fast paced narrative where first part focusses on his life from his birth to his days as a neurosurgeon and a scientist. The second part is dedicated to his life as a patient when he's declared terminally ill. You can easily connect with the life and ideologies of the author.

The book has so many teachings. Major one for me is 'Man proposes, God disposes'. You may plan whatever but in the end your destiny will have a final say. Story of Paul is truly inspiring and heart wrenching. The epilogue of the book is written by his wife and is very touching.

A beautiful book and a great read for those who wish to understand life from the perspective of a doctor who also becomes a patient. My rating 5/5.
