After reading The Krishna Key, Chanakya's Chant I just wanted to read The Rosabal Line by Ashwin Sanghi to know what this book has to offer, I must admit that Ashwin Sanghi pens amazing historical thrillers and it keeps me glued to the book throughout. I didn't know this was his first published book. Only after I googled it I came to know about it. In no way can you make out that this is his first book.
The book is brilliantly written with lots of facts mentioned. It only shows that Ashwin Sanghi is an excellently read author. This is the reason why his books always are very convincing and you just cannot identify between fiction and reality. His books always seem like a true story.
To start with the pace of the book is moderate, not very fast but not too slow either. The characters are very much relatable. Initially you will find there are lots of characters and their backgrounds and story going nowhere. Later you realise that all the characters are interlinked to the main storyline. For every fact mentioned there is a reference number and annexure at the end mentions the place from where the same has been taken. I would definitely be going through the references at some point.
The name Brian Weiss mentioned in the book bought a smile on my face coz I believe in him strongly. The elements mentioned in The Rozabal Line about past life regression and reincarnation is brilliantly showcased.
The book further highlights various aspects of Hinduism, Budhism, Christianity and Islam that are interlinked. While it's true that Hinduism is the oldest form of religion succeeded by Budhism and history mentions that to spread Christianity and Islam power of weapons was used, but it can also not be denied that every religion preaches the same thing. The book does justice in bringing the facts to the readers.
The book also states various facts with relation to everything that originated in India and was later used everywhere else e.g. Pythagoras theorem.
The main takeaway from the book is the fact that all religions though share the same teachings are however misused and misinterpreted for gaining power and creating animosity with other religions. For a genius creation (not to forget the first one) I will recommend this a must read for the historical thriller fans. Ashwin Sir, in no way can one know that this was your first book.
