I came across this book title and thought it to be a great read. The books narration showed that it's a story about a family losing a mom to Cancer and hence I picked it up.
The title says Grief Series Book 1 and hence am sure a second book - it's sequel is on its way soon which is very much required since the book felt incomplete. The book is a kind of self help book wherein the author has narrated the story of Wiggins family who lost Paulina - a wife and mother of 2. It's portrays how Paulina's sudden demise creates a void in the lives of Luis, LaTrella and Daryl and how they try to cope up with it.
At the end of each chapter there are questions for the readers to think and evaluate. A thing that will really make your mind work if you too have lost someone close in your family. The journal that LaTrella keeps wherein she writes to her mother is a bit emotional and very realistic. One can absolutely relate to the instances after the demise mentioned in the book. At times you start wondering whether it is authors own story.
I was anticipating more of the Grief counselling sessions which is narrated just once in the book. The phrase 'Its ok, I am watching' which LaTrella feels her mom is whispering in her ear is something you do connect with but it comes only twice in the book. Without a doubt the book does connect you emotionally and the book is a fast paced one for sure which could have been a little slow.
But overall, it's a nice book I would say. And yes awaiting the second book in the series.
