The Boy Who Loved - Durjoy Dutta

After reading A Day to Die For I felt like picking up a light love story and hence the recently launched book of Durjoy Dutta. Well I admit I loved this book immensely which I didn't thought would create an impact.

The story is of a boy with suicidal tendencies who witnesses his best friend's death. At times you feel the suicide is being glorified but then it's his feelings. This book is his diary, his life, his feelings. It then focusses on how he falls in love with Brahmi who has equally suicidal tendencies. The development of the love story is simply beautiful. The chaos at Raghu the main protagonists place is very relatable.

Each and every character is beautifully portrayed through the eyes of Raghu. Chapters are short and fast paced making it a great reading experience. There are lot many surprise elements which are brilliant. Emotions are just perfect. The chapter when protagonists brother dies is heart wrenching. It reminded me of my own brother who expired last year. The emotions are superbly portrayed.

At the end it leaves you feeling heavy at heart when Raghus brother and Brahmi die in different episodes. You truly feel sad for Raghu and are pained in his depression. You will definitely forget that Raghu is a fictional character. It's a brilliant book and I can't stop praising it enough. The minor mistakes can easily be forgotten in this master tale.

A great read.
