The Autobiography of a Sex Worker - Nalini Jameela

I bought this book due to its intriguing title and because I got this book on Kindle for only Rs. 9. Not a bad price for an eye catching title. But frankly after reading it I am thinking I shouldn't have bought this book for reasons mentioned ahead.

No prizes for guessing this book is about sex worker, her childhood, her marriage, her getting into flesh business, her life and her journey. The story starts with a not so good n not so bad childhood. Her starting to work at an early age and feeling of authority at her home coz of money. Her short and abusive marriage was narrated in a subtle manner. Death of her husband and demand of her mother in law for raising her 2 kids bought her into the business.

The narrative is slow. Stretches at many places. Though there are certain astonishing revelations made but fails to create any impact on the reader. One can only pray that the book ends soon. The second part is more about various people who came in her life, her experience in public speaking, her film making and life of her daughter.

I would not recommend this book to people who enjoy fast paced books. My rating is 2.5/5 for this book.
